Cannon-bollards. An illustrated essay about the reuse of surplus old muzzle-loading iron cannon, that were adapted as mooring bollards, street bollards, etc in many towns and ports. It discusses evidence against the belief that London bollards were enemy cannon captured at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Between 1995 and 2013 we maintained a linked list of almost 300 naval and maritime museums and historic vessels in Britain and the Republic of Ireland. In 2015 Scarborough Maritime Heritage took over our list and it is accessible, in a simplified format, on their web-site. It is a useful checklist, but should not be used for current information about opening hours, contact and collection details, etc.
